2 Peter 1:8 – “For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

This is a promise for a useful and fruitful life in Christ. However, these qualities must first exist and then increase. They never reach perfection, but always have room for growth. If we possess them and grow in them, God promises a fruitful life that is pleasing and full of the fruit of the Spirit; Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control (Galatians 5).

When we feel inadequate or useless, we can come back to this truth. We can be useful and fruitful according to God’s measure and view of things. He will never abandon or give up on us.
