Dave began serving at Calvary Church in 1991. Since then, Calvary has grown from 300 to more than 3500 in weekly attendance. The church added two more campuses and multiple venues at the main campus which led to staff growth from three to fifty. Calvary’s budget also grew from $300,000 in 1991 to 4.7 million and included multiple building expansions including a 6 million dollar expansion in 2003. During this time, as many as 1500 adults participated in small groups any given week and it was not uncommon to witness as many as two hundred baptisms in a single year.

During the course of Calvary’s explosive growth, Calvary received notable awards including Saddleback Church’s “Healthy Church Award” and World Gospel Mission’s “Church of the Year Award” for Calvary’s work in world missions. In 2006, Calvary was listed in the top 100 fastest growing churches in America by Church Growth Today Ministries. Additionally, Calvary was featured in a book by Sue Mallory, of Leadership Network, called “The Equipping Church” as an example of an equipping church and was featured in Willow Creek Association Magazine for creative efforts in making a building campaign a spiritual process.
